Welcome to Peace of Art
Promoting Peace, Dialogue, and Creativity through Art, Sport, Education & Digitalization.
Who We Are?
Peace of Art is a non-governmental organization founded by Mr. Mahdi Yahya, a passionate advocate for social change in Lebanon, a country deeply scarred by years of civil war and societal divisions. Driven by a vision of peace and unity, Mr. Yahya established the organization to provide a platform for dialogue, healing, and empowerment through the transformative power of art, education, and collaboration.
Founded in the Northern Bekaa region, Peace of Art began as a local initiative to address the unique challenges faced by communities affected by conflict, discrimination, and economic hardship. Over the years, the organization has expanded its reach internationally, spreading its message of peace and cultural understanding across borders. Today, Peace of Art stands as a global movement dedicated to fostering peace, unity, and social justice through multifaceted initiatives that blend artistic expression with community development.
At Peace of Art, we believe in the power of art to heal and transform. Through visual arts, music, theater, and sports, we create spaces for self-expression, cultural exchange, and community building. Our work goes beyond the traditional boundaries of art, incorporating education, training, and media to ensure sustainable impact. We aim to empower individuals, particularly youth, to become leaders and active participants in shaping a better future for themselves and their communities.
Our team consists of a diverse group of local and international professionals, including artists, educators, cultural experts, community organizers, and activists. Together, we bring a wealth of experience and expertise to our projects, ensuring that we meet the needs of local communities while fostering global solidarity.
In addition to our artistic initiatives, we engage in a variety of other impactful programs:
Intercultural Conferences and Roundtables: We regularly host intercultural dialogues and roundtable discussions that bring together diverse voices to address pressing social issues. These events foster mutual understanding and collaboration across cultures, facilitating constructive conversations around peace, tolerance, and social justice.
Sports Activities and Livelihood Programs: Recognizing the importance of holistic community development, we organize sports activities that promote teamwork, physical health, and positive social interaction. Our livelihood programs support economic development by providing training, resources, and opportunities for marginalized groups, helping them build sustainable livelihoods.
Civic Engagement and Good Governance: We actively engage with local communities and civil society organizations to provide education and orientation on electoral processes, democratic participation, and good governance. Our aim is to empower individuals to be informed and active participants in their political systems.
Conflict Resolution and Mediation: In regions affected by conflict and tension, we offer conflict resolution and mediation services. Our programs are designed to promote dialogue, understanding, and reconciliation, creating pathways for peaceful coexistence in divided communities.
Through these diverse initiatives, Peace of Art seeks to address the root causes of conflict and social inequality, creating lasting change in both local and global communities. We believe that peace is not just an aspiration but a collective responsibility that requires sustained efforts in education, community engagement, and cross-cultural collaboration.
As a non-profit organization, Peace of Art remains committed to its core values of inclusion, tolerance, and social equity. By engaging in meaningful partnerships with local and international organizations, we work together to create a world where art, education, and collaboration serve as powerful tools for social transformation and sustainable peace.
